Kudos to all travel vloggers

Yesterday I finished my first attempt to edit a travel vlog. This was the hardest edit I’ve ever tried to do. How is it possible to compress four days of filming into a video around 10 minutes? I ended up with a 12:12 video, and since it is my first I am pretty proud of my work. It will go public on Wednesday April 24th.

I have had to work extra hard to get everything filmed to be able to take this trip, but I made it. This weekend I have to edit 3 videos for the week of April 28 to May 4. May will be an interesting month for me, I have decided to try something new. May will be the month of two different series. Mondays and Fridays will be dedicated to things you need to know before, during, and before you go back home, if your taking a vacation in Sweden.

Wednesdays in May will be the start of a series how to start a YouTube channel for people like myself, without no technological knowledge, no filming and editing experience, and whose goal is to have this as a hobby and not a career. After three months I have realized that a lot of the videos out there in this topic either are very much directed to people who want this as their living, or they have after a long time on the platform forgot some of the most basic struggles a newbie like me has.

I have now reached a total of 40 public videos, but I am still struggling with getting people to watch them for more than a couple of minutes. This is what I need to focus my attention on. I also have started to work on a couple of different templates for my thumbnails, but I cannot come up with any really great ideas so this work will continue.

So far it looks like my more personal videos gets more attention than the ones of a more educational character. Maybe my channel will change direction, but it is far to early to make such a decision. When I have 100 public videos I will deep dive into my analytics, and then make that decision.

Now it is time for me to start editing. I don’t want to fall behind my schedule of always having two weeks of videos ready to go at any time.
