Can a Break Recharge More Than Energy?

Older woman in a soft green cardigan sits beside a sunlit desk with a laptop, open notebook, plants, and coffee, quietly looking out toward a lake.

I haven’t posted here for two weeks.

That wasn’t really planned.

Life just got in the way a little, and somewhere along the line I stopped trying to keep everything moving at the same pace.

Now that I’m coming back to it, I notice something.

I don’t just feel a little more rested.

I feel clearer.

Some ideas that felt crowded before seem easier to see now. A few things I thought I should keep pushing suddenly don’t feel that important. Other things I had almost forgotten about are starting to feel interesting again.

It made me wonder if a break can recharge more than energy.

Maybe it can recharge attention too.

Curiosity.

Perspective.

Even the desire to make something.

I think I often treat breaks as interruptions. A pause in the real work.

But maybe sometimes the pause is doing its own kind of work.

Not producing.

Not solving.

Just making a little room.

I’m still thinking about that.

Maybe that is enough for today.
