Is Curiosity Around AI Gone?

Person sitting with their back to the camera, facing a computer screen, with faint blurred duplicates of their profile suggesting repetition and stillness

I had a small thought today.

Not fully formed.

More like a question that keeps circling.

Is curiosity around AI… fading?

I don’t mean interest.

That’s clearly still there.

People are using it.
Talking about it.
Building with it.

But curiosity feels different from that.

It’s slower.
Less goal-driven.

More like…

“What happens if I try this?”

And I’m not sure I see that as often anymore.

Most interactions feel very clear now.

You ask.
You get something useful.
You move on.

Which makes sense.

But it also feels like something is missing in that.

Maybe not gone.

Just… less visible.

Or maybe I’m just not looking in the right places.

I don’t know yet.

Just something I noticed.
