There’s something about this time of year that makes me pause.
Not in a dramatic “new chapter” kind of way, just a softer slowing down. The air shifts. The light changes. My days start to fold inward a little.
I’ve always felt that autumn asks for reflection, not because we need to decide anything, but because change is happening whether we plan for it or not. Creative rhythms seem to follow that too. Some projects speed up as the year wanes, others go quiet for a while.
I used to resist that quiet, to push and finish and tidy up loose ends. Now I try to listen to it. Maybe it isn’t the end of something, only the in-between part where ideas settle and roots form again.
Maybe we all need that pause between seasons, the space to breathe before beginning again.
